One thing that bugged me about our new house is that there wasn't a light in the master bedroom. Who doesn't put a light in the master bedroom?! We have been using lamps since we moved in, but Al promised me that he would put in lights in the ceiling. I'm one that likes to have lots of light. Well we decided to put insulation in our attic, so this got things moving with the lights. Al didn't want to try to put in the light once all the insulation was in. Smart Man!
Nice thing is that he was able to find a light on clearance at Lowes. It's a light, fan so it will be nice to have in the summer too. So Tuesday morning he got started on his day long project.
See Look. No light.
Then he got up in the attic and drilled a hole in our ceiling. Ran some wire through, and then wired it to the power source.
He cut a bigger hole in the ceiling for the fan.
Wired in the lights and mounted the fixture.
Wired it in to the switch, And....
Wa La! We had light. For a few seconds anyway. Opps. He tripped the power. So now it was time to figure out what went wrong.
Back up to the attic now. Following wires to see what went
where.
Up and down, up and down. Trying to figure out what went wrong. Gideon loved following his daddy.
But I married a smart man! He figured it out! And now we have light and a fan in our room. He said if he would have taken the time to follow the wires the first time instead of just trying to hurry and get it done, it would have been done in a much shorter time. Oh well, I'm just so grateful for the light! It makes such a difference in our room, and I'm so grateful for a Handy Man who has the know how to do it!
