Most Aerodynamic Pine Wood Derby Car

Today was Sammy's Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby. He has been waiting for this day for over a month now. He took the time to sit down and design his car and we worked on it together. I supervised as he cut out the shape and he put it all together and painted it.

As we entered the Church for the Derby expectations were high. He was hoping to to come in first. Unfortunately due to a small problem that we had with the front axle he came in second in all three heats. He made me proud because you cold tell that the cars that beat him were not built by the scouts that were racing them. He on the other hand built his car and he did amazingly well. He knows what needs to be done for next year and is already working on his new design that will win the derby next year for sure. He did get an award for the most aerodynamic car in the derby though.

Way to go Sammy! That car looks pretty nifty! Taking second is nothing to be ashamed of. You are going to be a wood worker just like your Dad!

Congratulations Sammy! That's amazing that you designed the car by yourself. That's pretty impressive. He should be very proud and happy.
